Why Climate so important for Banana ?
Part from the fact that the banana has evolved in a warm climate the crop has also developed to prosper in a wet environment, making the water supply an important factor. The ideal situation is an even distribution of rainfall throughout the year. The amount of rainfall that requires for banana cultivation varies a lot depending on the literature source. suggests an annual rainfall of 500 mm to 2000 mm) proposes amounts between 2000 mm to 2500 mm.
Too much water ?
Water is most important material for plant growing which is getting too much for plant also getting not good. Too much water during the growth period generates damage and oxygen deficit to the banana plant. The main parts of the roots grow within the depth of one meter below ground and a high ground water table may therefore cause severe destruction to the roots. 24 hours with a high water table level is enough to kill the roots and high water table that continues for several days makes the color of the leaves turn pale
